Key policies and peace of mind

We want every parent and camper to feel completely reassured and confident in the ABC Legacy Camp staff and the experience we provide. Our transparent policies are a cornerstone of that trust, built to ensure a smooth, safe, and incredibly fun summer for everyone involved.

What's the most important requirement before camp starts?

Before the camp adventure begins, both the parent/guardian and camper are required to sign the Parent & Camper Agreement. This ensures everyone understands and agrees to the guidelines that make our camp safe and enjoyable.

How does ABC Legacy Camp ensure camper safety and staff integrity?

The safety and well-being of our campers are paramount. All ABC Legacy Camp staff members undergo background checks and receive specialized "ProtectMyMinistry" training before camp starts, guaranteeing a trustworthy and secure environment for your child.

What is the camp's approach to camper behavior and discipline?

Our approach focuses on positive reinforcement and teaching responsible behavior. Minor infractions are addressed through discussion and redirection, while serious issues are handled promptly with parent involvement, always prioritizing the safety and respect of all campers.

What if a camper needs to leave camp early or arrives late?

All early dismissals or late arrivals must be pre-arranged with the camp administration. For security reasons, campers can only be released to authorized individuals listed on their registration form, with proper identification.

What is the policy on prohibited items at camp?

To maintain a safe and focused environment, certain items are prohibited. These typically include electronics, valuable personal items, and any items that could be a safety hazard. Please refer to our What to Pack page for a detailed list.

How does the camp handle health and medical needs?

We have trained staff available to manage minor injuries and administer prescribed medications as instructed by parents. In case of a medical emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest medical facility, and parents will be notified immediately.

Can parents visit campers during the session?

To maintain the camp routine and foster independence, unscheduled visits are generally discouraged. We encourage communication through letters and pre-scheduled visiting days if applicable. Please contact the camp director for specific visitation policies.

What is the camp's communication policy with parents?

We aim for open communication. Parents will be kept up to date before camp through the email you enter on the registration form.  We hope that we have covered as many questions as possible through this website but if you have additional question please contact the camp director, Bill Cassabaum, at 520.298.2421 or email him at cassabaum@hotmail.com or submit a question via the contact form on the homepage.

Your confidence, our priority
